FAQ

  • What is WandTober?
    • A “month long” live streamed online interactive event aimed at celebrating many wandmakers in one place, as well as other magically talented artists. Think of it like an online convention/event similar to Comic Con, or LeakyCon. Primarily focused on wandmakers, but features other magical artists with the intent to help everyone interact with more people and gain more exposure as well as providing value to the attendees by way of deals, discounts, giveaways, and/or other. Featured guests are requested to provide something of value to the attendees. This can be, but not limited to, deals/discounts, giveaways, live how-to lessons/tutorials, or other. A percent of the proceeds are being donated to the Make A Wish foundation.
  • A MONTH long event!? That seems like a bit much, why a whole month?
    • We understand that a “month long” certainly can seem like a long time, however due to the number of featured guests we felt that spreading their appearances out to smaller segments throughout the month would make for a more manageable viewing experience for attendees and allow more to join and take part in the interactive aspect of the event.
  • What platform will the online event be held/broadcast through?
    • It will be broadcast through an independent live video software/website called CrowdCast.
  • Do attendees have to pay to take part in the event?
Yes, the event is being approached in a similar manner as other popular in-person events such as Comic Con, LeakyCon, and others. One huge benefit to the WandTober event is that attendees that otherwise might not be able to travel to an in-person event can enjoy it in the comfort of their own homes, thereby also saving on travel expenses, food, lodging and other expenses usually associated with in-person events. Not to mention all the amazing deals, discounts, giveaways and more that will be exclusive to the livestream event.
  • Why a paid event?
    • In part to discourage internet scammers, spammers and trolls, ensure that every attendee is someone who truly wants to be there and will get value from attending, support future Master Wandmakers events, allow for the option of doing in event contests where attendees can win money, a percent of the proceeds will also be given to charity (Make A Wish foundation), just to name a few reasons.
  • Can I join the live event by using my mobile device?
    • The platform only supports video from computers at this time (laptops or desktops). Attendees can view the live video using their mobile device and interact (ask questions, as well as other functions), but will not be able to join the featured guests and host “Onstage” via video.
  • Do I have to use a specific internet browser to take part in the event?
    • Yes. Join from a compatible browser and device. Crowdcast is supported on the latest browsers including Chrome (preferred), Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. We don’t recommend Safari, and you won’t be able to use Internet Explorer.
  • What if I miss a live stream?
    • The truth is, you might miss a few live streams here and there and that’s okay. Every live stream will be recorded and available to watch even after the fact. As some benefits, such as giveaways and or discounts may be limited to the live stream, you may miss on those specific items unfortunately, other discounts and deals may continue on past that artists time slot, it’s entirely up to the individual.
